Industry

Jackson County is served by two industrial sites with a total area of 24 acres.  Several factories are located in Gainesboro with such diversified classifications as: furniture, garments, aluminum frames, auto parts, and metal couplings.  The list is growing each year as industry and individuals find Jackson County to be an excellent area to live and work.

Abundant electricity at low TVA rates is provided by UCEMC; also coal, natural gas, and fuel oil are available as sources of energy.  Several state highways make travel easy in the county; and there are six motor freight carriers servicing the area.  The Gainesboro Municipal Airport is adjacent to the industrial park.

 

Communications

There is one locally published newspaper, plus the Nashville dailies which are available to residents.  The regional radio station, WLIV-AM is located nearby.  All the major television networks are received in Jackson County.  Telephone and Internet Service are provided by the locally owned Twin Lakes Telephone Co-op Corporation.

 

Finance

There are two banking institutions with numerous branches located throughout the county.
